The best way I have found to keep it cool is to have it under the oil pan. With the rack on the engine, I was able to keep the oil cool and not burn myself.

Well, as it turns out, oil racks are another thing that can break and need to be replaced. The problem? That is, if your rack is just sitting on the engine and the oil pan is getting too dry, it can start gumming up. You can fix this by putting a drain plug on the rack to let the oil drain, or by buying a new rack that has a drain plug. I know mine was a bit of a mess, but it did eventually get it fixed.
